Stones carry the energy of billions of years. Can you imagine how they have bore witness to every changing world? We can only imagine maybe 100 years on the planet but a rock, may be 100 million years old!
Using rocks for spellcasting and for energy is essential. Often times you will be drawn to certain rocks. Perhaps you like the ones with granite lines in them, or you like ones you can tumble into polished stones. A palm stone is much like a worry stone. You can fit it in your palm and carry it around with you.
If you get into a dicey situation, you remove the stone from your pocket or purse, and place in your hand and concentrate on the smooth surface of the stone. Rubbing it “rubs away your worries” you then focus on protection, calmness, and clarity.
Gemstones work as well, but to me there’s nothing like a raw stone.
Tips for choosing the perfect stone:
-Smooth stones, often called “worry stones” are good for rubbing when nervous.
-Raw or smooth Gemstones may be linked to Metaphysical properties. For instance, if you are an “achy” person with joint pain, why not try some Amethyst, Rose Quartz, or my personal favorite Hematite?
-Choose a stone that calls to you. If you can’t pass it by, and pick it up, you may very well have found your own pet rock.
